Study analyzing the degree of content alignment between the 2013 NAEP Grade 8 Reading and Mathematics assessments and the ACT EXPLORE assessments in the same subjects.

This study analyzes and reports on the degree of content alignment of the 2013 NAEP Grade 8 Reading assessments and the ACT EXPLORE Reading assessments. The study design is comprised of a qualitative comparison of each assessment's framework and items, conducted in February 2015, and a series of alignment activities designed to investigate the degree of alignment between the pairs of assessments and frameworks. For reading, the studies compared the two assessments—NAEP and EXPLORE—to the 2013 NAEP Framework and to the ACT College Readiness Standards (CRS).

The appendices for this NORC report "Alignment Between the 2013 NAEP Grade 8 Reading Assessment and the ACT EXPLORE Reading Assessment" includes the design document, agenda, training materials, DOK values for each framework objective, and participant surveys.
