Assessment Schedule

Approved by the National Assessment Governing Board — May 15, 2026.

The National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP) Authorization Act established the National Assessment Governing Board to set policy for NAEP, including determining the schedule of assessments. (P.L. 107-279)

2026 NAEP administration was completed in early 2026. Results are expected early 2027 (4th & 8th grade mathematics and reading) and summer 2027 (8th grade civics and U.S. history).
