Gregory J. Cizek is the Guy B. Phillips Distinguished Professor of Educational Measurement and Evaluation at the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill. Dr. Cizek's early career involved service in K-12 education as an elementary and middle school teacher, and an elected local school board member. He was also certified as an elementary principal. His academic career has spanned 25 years in the field of applied assessment with specializations in standard setting, validity and test security. Dr. Cizek has served as President of the National Council on Measurement in Education; previously he served a partial term on the Governing Board.
