Michael Sidebotham has been the principal of Grafton Village Elementary School in Fredericksburg, Virginia, since 2009. Prior to that role, he served as a teacher and assistant principal in Stafford, Virginia. He was named Principal of the Year in Stafford County in 2018 and in 2025, was named a Virginia Department of Education Principal of Distinction. Sidebotham’s leadership roles have involved many aspects of assessment, including planning and administering state and benchmark tests and using data to inform instructional decisions and accelerate student progress. He also serves on the Board of Directors for the Virginia Association of Elementary School Principals (VAESP).
