Melia Franklin is an experienced curriculum and assessment leader with nearly 30 years of experience spanning K-12 classroom teaching, school and district leadership, higher education, state-level leadership, and assessment facilitation. Her interests include personalized competency-based learning, real-world learning, and learner-centered practices, while also mentoring future educators and supporting the development of effective teaching and learning practices.
Throughout her career, Dr. Franklin has served in leadership roles involving district administration, secondary education, English language arts and world languages, and assessment. Her work has included developing curriculum and assessments, conducting state and district-level alignment studies, facilitating professional learning, supporting school improvement initiatives, and serving as a content expert on educational projects across multiple states.
